TIPS AND TRICKS
Streambels Streams Your Phone to TVs, Consoles and More

Android: Streambels is a new app that streams music, videos, photos, and YouTube from your Android phone to any AirPlay or DLNA compatible player with just a few taps. That means you can push media from your phone to an Apple TV or iOS device, right to your TV or receiver, game console, or almost any set-top box. Streambels has been in beta for a while now, and I've been testing it off and on for a while—the final release just hit Google Play, and while it's not perfect, it definitely does what it promises to do. Fire up the app and select a device to stream to, and you should see all of the powered on and connected DLNA-compatible or AirPlay compatible devices on your home network. Tap to select that device, and from there any video, photo, or song that you open (inside the Streambels app, that is) will play on the selected device. The app has built-in support for YouTube and Facebook video as well, so you can fire up a video on your phone and have it play on the big screen in the living room, no additional devices or tweaking necessary.

The app can even run in the background so you can change apps and do something else on your phone while music or video is playing. The app is even customizable, and offers multiple skins and designs to suit your tastes. Best of all, the app is so ridiculously simple to use that anyone can make use of it. You don't really have to understand AirPlay or DLNA to fire it up, pick a device, and stream music from your phone to your stereo, for example. Where Streambels falls down though is that it only supports media played in the app, and any external services that the developers choose to support. That means right now you have to use it as a media player, and the only web services it works with are Facebook video and YouTube.
They plan to add support for Spotify, Soundcloud, 8Tracks, and more in the next update, so if that's what you want, keep an eye on the app. In the interim, it's a great way to get local media off the small screen and onto the big one, and it's one of the best implementation of AirPlay on Android we've seen. Hit the link below to give it a try—it's free.

STRANGE NEWS HEADLINES
FORT PIERCE, FL -- A man in Florida got so upset with his neighbors for not wanting to drink with him that he did the only logical thing there is to do in a situation like that: He called 911 twice to let officers know that the neighbors weren’t being cool because, you know, the police don’t have anything better to do with their time. It’s safe to say that wasn’t a smart move on the part of James Collins.

Police in Fort Pierce, Florida got a call around 8:35 p.m. about a domestic disturbance. Officers arrived on the scene and Collins explained to them why he was so upset. "The complainant, James Collins, stated that his neighbors were being mean and would not drink with him," notes the police report. “Officer Rahn explained to James about misusing 911." Apparently, Collins did not understand what the officers told him, because just 30 minutes after his initial encounter with police, the man called 911 once more to, again, complain that his neighbors wouldn’t drink with him. This time, police were not so nice about it. The fact that he reeked of alcohol and had a container of “Blue Ice” in his front pocket were enough to arrest him for disorderly intoxication to go along with the misuse of 911 charge he was clearly facing already.
